About Agape Bibles
Jim Compton began working with leather in 2016 when he restored and rebound his late mother's Bible, bringing a cherished family treasure back to life. That experience sparked a passion for fine leather craftsmanship. Over the years, Jim honed his skills by rebinding Bibles and creating wallets, journal covers, and other handcrafted leather goods.
The inspiration for Agape Bibles' signature Bible cases came from a dear friend, Cat Woods. Unable to find a high-quality Bible carrying case that met her expectations, Cat shared her ideas with Jim. After numerous prototypes and refinements, the Cat Woods Collection was born.
Cat immediately fell in love with the design and began sharing it with friends and fellow Bible enthusiasts. Word quickly spread about these premium handmade Bible cases, and demand continues to grow. Today, Jim's primary focus is building Bible cases and Bible sleeves, while his Bible rebinding services remain on hold.
Every product is handcrafted by Jim in his home workshop in the great state of Florida. Each piece is individually hand-cut from the hide to ensure the finest fit and finish. The exterior leathers are sourced from American suppliers that utilize U.S. tanneries and produce premium full-grain bison and cowhide leathers. Every Bible case and sleeve is lined with soft lambskin to help cushion and protect your Bible.
Bible Cases and Sleeves
Our Bible cases feature thoughtfully designed interior pockets for storing pens, highlighters, notes, papers, and cards. Bible sleeves offer the same exceptional protection but without interior storage pockets.
Bible cases may be ordered with or without a handle, while Bible sleeves are designed without handles for a sleek, minimalist profile. For a truly personal touch, Jim can hot-stamp the exterior with a custom embossed name.
The clamshell design allows the case or sleeve to lay completely flat when the double-pull zipper is opened, providing easy access to your Bible. Once zipped, your Bible is securely nestled inside for superior protection.
Our one-size-fits-all design accommodates Bibles up to 11" x 7.25" x 2.25". For oversized or undersized Bibles, Jim can custom-build a case or sleeve to your exact measurements.
Journal Covers
Agape Bibles also offers handcrafted leather journal covers made from the same premium leathers used in our Bible cases and sleeves. These covers are designed to allow journals to be easily replaced when filled, providing a lifetime of use from a single beautiful cover.

Why the Name Agape Bibles?
One of the questions Jim is asked most often is how he chose the name Agape Bibles.
The word Agape (Ancient Greek: ἀγάπη, agapē) is a Greco-Christian term that refers to unconditional love. It is often described as the highest form of love and charity, representing both God's love for mankind and mankind's love for God.
For Jim, the name was a natural choice. His passion for creating heirloom-quality Bible cases and sleeves is rooted in his love for God's Word and the message contained within the Bible. The name Agape Bibles reflects not only the products he creates by hand, but also the faith, devotion, and purpose behind every piece that leaves his workshop.
